Serving Suggestions For Your N2O Cream Chargers:

Classic Banana Split

Serves 4

Ingredients

4 ripe bananas
4 scoops each of vanilla, chocolate chip and strawberry ice cream
4 tbsp each of chocolate sauce, summer berry sauce and toffee sauce (see footnotes to make from scratch)
250ml double cream
4 tbsp chopped pecans and walnuts
12 glace cherries, halved
4 fan wafers

Method

  1. Peel and halve the bananas lengthways, and place 2, split side up, in each dish.
  2. Between the 2 halves, add the 3 scoops of ice cream in the 3 flavours. Now generously drizzle the three sauces over the top.
  3. To make the whipped cream, pour the double cream into a whipper, screw the lid on tightly, insert a cream charger and select your desired nozzle. Generously decorate each dish with the whipped cream.
  4. Sprinkle with the chopped nuts and the cherry halves and arrange the wafers so they are sticking out of the ice cream, curved side up. Serve immediately.

Footnote: To make the sauces:

Chocolate Sauce

Makes 330ml

Ingredients

100g good quality chocolate (minimum 60% cocoa)
100g double cream
30g unsalted butter
2 tbsp golden syrup

Method

  1. Combine all the ingredients into a saucepan and whisk over a medium to low heat until the chocolate has melted and the sauce is thick and glossy. Cool to serve or drizzle straight onto your desert for a ‘hot sundae’.

Toffee Sauce

Makes 450ml

Ingredients

2 tbsp golden syrup
200ml double cream
120g muscovado sugar
60g unsalted butter

Method

  1. Over a low heat, whisk the ingredients in a heavy based saucepan until the sugar has dissolved, the butter has melted and the sauce is thick and glossy. Best served cool, although this sauce can also be applied hot for warm deserts.
